Safina Street Network is a registered Christian Charity aiming to reach Street Children and Homeless Youth with God's Love and holistic care around Tanzania. Until now we are in Dar Es Salaam, Morogoro, Iringa, Dodoma and Singida.

Our programs
Street Outreach
|
These are persons pushed from their communities of origin by diverse factors including abuse or violence at home, or loss of family livelihood.
Our Outreach Team visits them for counselling and share with them the good news of Jesus. For those who reach a decision to come off the streets we accept them to our shelter and later reunite them with their families if possible. We help sick children to get medical treatment and also with food. |
Drop-In Center

We also invite them to come for breakfast, medical treatment and counseling to our Drop-In Center. Through this program we build trust and friendship, give encouragement and see who is ready to come off the streets in order to be reconciled with his family if possible and start or go back to school.

Shelter
|
This is a temporary home for those made their decision to come off the streets awaiting the possibility for their family reunification. Here we provide for their basic needs like food, shelter, medical treatment and informal classes. Through counselling we prepare them to be reconciled with their families. We also like to help them to know who they are, the importance of living in a family especially theirs and education but also to know God´s plan for their lives.

Family Reconciliation
|
Like any other child street children need parental care. With our great effort we wish to see these children being reconciled to their families. If reconciliation is made possible we continue visiting their families and schools to see how they are getting along and if needed to support them with their educational needs. We also offer seminars for parents and caretakers.

Foster Homes
|
Sometimes we find that at the moment their own families would not be a safe environment for them due to dysfunctional family structures. Therefore, they will continue staying with us to our foster homes and go to school until the situation in their own families has changed for the positive or until they have completed their education and are able to live independently.
When we see that children, who have been living on the streets go to school, do well in school, develop their gifts and are well integrated into our family we thank God for it. We also see how God´s word and love brings changes and healing into their lives. |
